Repair of three bridges on Highway 73, over St. Lawrence River, Chaudière River and route 132

Main Work Performed

• Complete demolition of Picard and Risi bridge slabs and partial demolition of Pierre-Laporte slab (north and south masses)
• Repair of foundation elements (abutments and pillars) of Picard bridges and Risi bridges and Pierre-Laporte (north and south masses)
• Excavation and fill to repair the abutments of the three bridges
• Installation of temporary support of Pierre-Laporte bridge, north and south masses, for traffic
• Raising of Picard and Risi bridge girders to repair foundation and replacement of bearing support
• Repair of existing concrete beams of Picard bridge
• Reinforcement and painting of the existing steel bridge for the Risi bridge
• Formwork, reinforcing steel and concreting of the new deck of the three bridges
• Supply, installation and concreting of expansion joints
• Slab cleaning and installation of the waterproofing membrane
• Formwork, reinforcing steel and concreting of concrete barriers
