Additional informations
The Des Neiges Wind Farm Project – Charlevoix Sector involves the installation of 57 Nordex 7 MW wind turbines across a mountainous terrain, requiring precise engineering and construction of turbine foundations and access infrastructure. These high-capacity turbines are strategically positioned based on the site’s unique topographical and geotechnical constraints to optimize energy production and lifting operations. To serve the entire wind farm, approximately 120 km of access roads are being constructed, including earthworks, granular road structures, drainage systems, and nine (9) bridges designed to accommodate the transport of oversized turbine components and heavy-lift cranes. These infrastructures ensure safe and continuous access throughout the project site. Each wind turbine is supported by a large-diameter reinforced concrete foundation, incorporating anchor systems and reinforcement designed to withstand the dynamic loads generated by the Nordex turbines. The electricity produced is transmitted through a 34.5 kV underground collector system, consisting of conduits, power cables, and junction chambers, connecting all wind turbines to the project’s substation.
