Site development and foundation construction for Hydro-Québec’s new thermal generating station in Aupaluk. This project represents the first phase of a two-phase development that will enable Hydro-Québec to operate a new diesel generating station and a 12 kV substation on the autonomous power network serving Aupaluk.

Main work carried out

• Supply of 27,000 m³ of MG-112 granular material;
• Supply of 2,000 m³ of MG-20 granular material;
• Construction of a 250 m-long access road to the future generating station;
• Site clearing and stripping for the future generating station;
• Backfilling of areas inside and outside the building foundations;
• Placement of riprap on embankment slopes around the entire site perimeter;
• Formwork and concrete placement for the building foundations;
• Insulation and waterproofing of the building foundations.
