Upgrading of the potable water treatment facility in Kawawachikamach.

Main work carried out

• Installation of a temporary raw water supply system during construction activities;
• Relocation of the existing 5,000 L diesel fuel tank supplying the standby generator;
• Relocation of the existing 300 mm HDPE raw water intake pipeline;
• Construction of two cast-in-place concrete potable water reservoirs;
• Construction of a greywater reservoir and a raw water reservoir using sheet piling;
• Excavation in areas with a high groundwater table;
• Construction of a wood-frame building above the reservoirs;
• Installation of prefabricated wood wall panels manufactured off-site;
• Installation of interior and exterior metal cladding;
• Water-tightness testing, cleaning, and disinfection of the concrete reservoirs;
• Installation of process equipment for drinking water treatment;
• Connection of process mechanical systems between the existing plant and the plant expansion;
• Coordination of the supply and installation of water treatment equipment provided by the client;
• Modification and expansion of electrical systems;
• Site landscaping and restoration;
• Commissioning of the plant expansion;
• Rail transportation of equipment;
• Air transportation provided by CRT.
